The City offers a wide variety of programs and workshops for adults ages 55 and over. 55+ Recreation and Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre 55+ Facility membership holders can enjoy discounted rates on select registered programming.

The following drop-in activities are free for 55+ Recreation and Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre 55+ Facility members. Non-members can join in the fun for $5.35 per visit, per program, or regular admission rates apply. Previous experience is recommended. Free parking is available. Schedules are subject to change.

We are confident you will enjoy our 55+ Recreation membership that includes fun drop-in programming. That is why we are offering select free drop-in programs so you can try, before you buy, a 55+ Recreation Membership. Enjoy a free coffee or tea and enter to win prize draws while you are there.
A membership and program specialist will be onsite to answer all of your questions at each activity from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Please note that previous experience is needed for the cribbage and euchre card games. Space is limited. Registration is required by emailing 55plus@brantford.ca or by calling 519-759-4150 ext.5578.

Unleash your creativity using acrylics. Paint two acrylic paintings using a variety of mark making techniques. Learn how to create exciting abstract paintings using a composition, colour palettes and a variety of techniques. Supplies are not included. A supply list will be provided upon registration.

Paint a vibrant fall scene with a focus on birch trees. Learn different ways to paint birch trees in a colourful fall landscape. Each class will include simple step-by-step instruction to build your scene and colour layers to depict a fall forest with birch trees. We will use some fun techniques using plastic wrap, salt, a plastic card and sponges to create texture. Supplies are not included. A supply list will be provided upon registration.

This gentle form of exercise is an introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong. Help improve your balance, muscle tone and mental well-being.
