Adult Programs (18 to 54)

Adult programs are geared to those ages 18 and over. We also offer a wide-variety of programming geared to older adults ages 55 and over.

Fall 2026 and winter 2027 program registration dates:

  • City of Brantford and Six Nations of the Grand River residents can register for Winter 2027 Programs (excluding swim lessons) on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 7:30 a.m.
  • Registration opens to all on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 7:30 a.m.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre programs

The City offers pickleball drop-in programs at a variety of locations. Pickleball is a ‘tennis-like' racket game played with two or four people on a badminton sized court. The paddles used are light-weight and solid, used to hit a large hollow plastic ball. It can be easy enough for anybody to play and will provide a good workout for those looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Drop in to the gymnasium and enjoy a wide variety of sports. Sports include; badminton, basketball, pickleball and Volleyball and Underwater Rugby. Find current schedules online at calendar.waynegretzkysportscentre.ca/DropInSports.

This small-group training program will have you crushing workouts alongside others who are motivated to make changes, just like you! Our certified trainers deliver individualized programs that meet you where you are and can help take you where you want to go. 

  • Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., cost $79.65 for seven weeks
    • May 5 to June 16, 2026 (activity number 27406)
    • July 7 to August 18, 2026 (activity number 27408) 
  • Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., cost $79.65 for seven weeks
    • May 7 to June 18, 2026 (activity number 27406)
    • July 9 to August 20, 2026 (activity number 27408)

LEVEL 1: If you are interested in triathlons but not sure where to start, this beginner program is for you. You will learn good swim technique, practice drills and build your endurance. To join this program you should be able to complete a 25m swim with your face in the water. There is no class on May 18, 2026.

  • Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., cost $79.65 for seven weeks
    • May 4 to June 22, 2026 (activity number 27475)

LEVEL 2: If you have past swimming or triathlon experience this program will work on your technique and challenge you with speed drills and different strokes. It is a great workout for competitive triathletes as well as people who would like to stay fit and active. There is no class on May 18, 2026. 

  • Mondays from 7:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., cost $93.50 for seven weeks
    • May 4 to June 22, 2026 (activity number 27477)

LEVEL 1: An introductory program designed for adults who are new to strength training or returning after a break. In this small group setting, you will learn safe, effective exercises to build muscle, improve balance, and increase mobility.

  • Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., cost $83.50 for seven weeks
    • May 5 to June 16, 2026 (activity number 27411)
    • July 7 to August 18, 2026 (activity number 27412)

LEVEL 2: This program focuses on advancing your strength and stability with more challenging exercises and techniques. Continue building muscle, enhancing balance, and improving functional movement for everyday life.

  • Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., cost $83.50 for seven weeks
    • May 7 to June 18, 2026 (activity number 27410)
    • July 9 to August 20, 2026 (activity number 27413)

Woodman Park Community Centre programs

Location: Woodman Park Community Centre (491 Grey Street)
Pickleball enthusiasts get ready! We are offering drop-in pickleball play during all statutory holidays this summer.

  • Monday, August 3 (Civic Holiday) 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Monday, September 7 (Labour Day) 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p. m. to 2:30 p.m.

Rates:

  • Ages 3 to 10: $3.50 per visit (must attend with a caregiver)
  • Ages 11 to 17: non-members $3.50 per visit or FREE for Youth Members 
  • Ages 18 to 54: $6.38 per visit
  • Ages 55+: non-members $5.36 per visit or $3.25 for 55+ Recreation or Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre 55+ Facility membership holders
  • FREE for 55+ Pickleball Passholders

Join us for drop-in basketball, where players of all skills levels can shoot hoops, practice their game or enjoy a friendly pickup game. Whether you are looking to improve your skills or just have fun, everyone is welcome!

Summer Session (June 30 to August 30, 2026):

  • Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Fall/Winter session (starts September 22, 2026):

  • Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

  • Ages 18 to 54: $6.38 per visit

Come enjoy a good game of Scrabble and socializing with friends. Scrabble boards and dictionaries are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
