Activate Brantford Grant
The Activate Brantford Grant was developed by the Brantford Tourism Development Corporation to provide an opportunity for tourism-oriented businesses and organizers to create signature events, experiences, and tourism products that will increase Brantford’s attractiveness as a destination for visitors. The Activate Brantford Grant’s objectives are to provide funding support for projects that demonstrate an ability to drive overnight stays at local accommodations and a strong visitor appeal. All funding is made available through the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT), and applications are accepted on a rolling intake to eligible organizations. There are two grant streams organizations can apply for, including Signature Tourism Events and Tourism Product Development.
Eligible projects include:
- The development and execution of new signature events or festivals;
- Support of large-scale tournaments or conferences that will drive overnight stays;
- Unique tourism product development; and
- Community-led placemaking or activation projects that temporarily or permanently animate outdoor public spaces in Brantford
Who Can Apply?
- Organizations/groups must be physically situated within the geographical limits of the City of Brantford and/or be executing a project or event in the City of Brantford.
- Organizers must deliver tourism events, product development, or programming as their primary activity.
- Organizations or individuals must apply at least 120 days prior to their event.
