Current Park Projects

A new park and playground coming to West Brantford. The new park will be located at 77 Stauffer Road, off Hardy Road. The neighbourhood park will feature a new playground, 3-bay swing set with inclusive swing and toddler seat, accessible paved pathways with an extended walking loop, seating, bike rack, new tree plantings and a shade structure. 

Residents can participate in a survey and vote for their favourite playground design, choosing from two design options. Each design features different equipment and a unique layout that provides a range of fun recreational opportunities for children of all ages. Be part of your Neighbourhood Playground Decision Making at www.LetsTalkBrantford.ca/77StaufferRoad until Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Final results will be shared after the survey closes with subscribers to the Let’s Talk Brantford platform and on the City of Brantford’s official social media channels.

A new playground is planned for Lions Park Steve Brown Sports Complex at 12 Edge Street. A survey was completed by residents through www.LetsTalkBrantford.ca in February 2026 to help inform the new playground design. Residents choose from two playground design options, each featuring different equipment and a unique layout. The new playground at Lions Park is intended to replace the aged playground equipment located 300-metres away at Brooklyn Park located at 49 Charles Street.

Survey results:

Thank you to all those who took the time help inform the design of the new playground equipment for Lions Park Steve Brown Sports Complex. 

We are pleased to be able to share an overview of the survey results below:

• 72.5% of survey respondents preferred to see the future playground be in bright colours like yellow, purple, pink, teal, orange, blue etc.
• 64.8% of survey respondents preferred Option 1: Traditional Playground Equipment for the final design, shown in the image below. This design features a classic platform-based play structure with slides, climbers, fun activity panels, and a two-bay swing set with an accessible swing and toddler seat. Additional play features included a wiggly worm climbing pole, calypso drums set, museum activity panel, mogul and roller slides, throughway panel, circles climber, "S" ladder climber and spinner.

In addition to the new playground equipment, the updated park will include a shade shelter, additional seating, accessible paved pathways and new tree plantings. This new playground is intended to replace the aged playground equipment located 300-metres away at Brooklyn Park, located at 49 Charles Street. Construction is expected to begin this summer and be completed by Fall 2026.

The City of Brantford is excited to share that Brooklyn Park at 41 Delamere Street, will be getting two new junior-sized baseball diamonds that features concrete viewing pads surrounding the diamonds with bleachers, paved dugouts and armourstone seating, planned to open for play in 2027. New asphalt pathways and tree plantings will also be added.

The aged existing soccer field and playground equipment will be removed. A brand new playground will be installed only 300-metres away at Lions Park Steve Brown Sports Complex at 12 Edge Street. 

The City of Brantford��s Design and Development team is excited to announce a new parkette coming to the Nature’s Grand subdivision, located off Hardy Road in Ward 2.

Designed for passive recreation, the parkette will provide a quiet, shaded outdoor space featuring:

• Accessible paved pathways, including a small walking loop
• A shade shelter
• Benches
• Tree plantings

The parkette will connect to the existing trail system around the stormwater pond on Wright Street, linking it to the Blue Circle Trail, SC Johnson Trail, and Oakhill Trail.

Upgrades are coming to Mayfair Park! The existing park will be undergoing improvements as a part of the city’s Playground Renovation and Rehabilitation Program.

The previous playground has been decommissioned following a safety evaluation, and will be replaced with new play equipment that meets modern safety and accessibility standards.

Other features that may be included in the final design include:

• Accessible paved pathways
• Benches / Seating
• Junior and senior play areas
• A swing set
• Engineered wood fibre safety surfacing
• A shade shelter on a concrete pad

Changes are coming to your neighbourhood park! The play area at Prince Charles Park (77 Herbert Street) is scheduled for an upgrade as a part of our Playground Renovation and Rehabilitation Program.

As a part of the upgrade the existing playground will be decommissioned and replaced with new play equipment that meets modern safety standards.

• Junior and senior play areas
• Swings
• Engineered wood fibre safety surfacing
• A shade shelter on a concrete pad

Robert Moore Park is moving to 22 Sydenham Street. The new park will include new playground equipment, a three-bay swing set with an accessible swing, shade shelters, community gardens, accessible paved pathways and new trees for additional shade. A splash pad will be included in the final design.

This community centre and park is part of a joint initiative with the Grand Erie District School Board and the Brantford Public Library. The park will include a wide range of amenities including a large playground, splash pad, cricket pitch, artificial turf soccer field, shade structures, and a paved and refrigerated multi-use court for year-round use which will accommodate summer sports and winter skating.
