The Parking Enforcement Office located at the Market Centre Parkade has been relocated to City Hall (58 Dalhousie Street). The Parkade office location at 59 Icomm Drive is no longer open to the public.

Parking in Brantford

You must always follow the City of Brantford's parking regulations under the Municipal Parking By-law 144-88 and its related Schedules. If you get a parking ticket, you can pay your municipal parking tickets online, in person at City Hall or by mail.

Paying your parking ticket

You must pay City of Brantford parking tickets within 30 days of the date on the ticket. Learn more by visiting our Pay your Parking Ticket page.

If you receive a parking ticket notice by mail

You may receive a parking ticket notice by mail even if a ticket was not placed on your vehicle. In these cases, the ticket is still valid.

This may happen if:

  • someone removed the ticket from your vehicle
  • someone else was driving your vehicle when the ticket was issued
  • the by-law enforcement officer was unable to place the ticket on the vehicle before it left

If you receive a parking ticket notice by mail, you are responsible for responding to it by the deadline provided.

Student semester parking permits

2026-2027 student parking permits for the Market Centre Parkade are available for purchase at a cost of $250 per semester - tax included. Permits are non-refundable, and valid student ID or other proof of enrollment is required. Please visit Parking Services at City Hall (58 Dalhousie Street) to purchase a student parking permit.

Parking vouchers

You can purchase parking vouchers at City Hall (58 Dalhousie Street). Vouchers have a value of one hour of parking in the Market Centre Parkade and can be purchased for $2.25 each. Vouchers are sold in groups of 100.

Downtown parking

Downtown Brantford has more than 1000 parking spots. The parking limit for a vehicle is can range between 1 hour to 3 hours, unless stated otherwise on roadside signs. See the list of locations and fees for municipal parking lots downtown.

Hotspot parking app

The City of Brantford has introduced a convenient option for drivers to pay for parking. By using the Hotspot Parking App, visitors can now pay for parking in municipal surface lots by scanning the QR code displayed on signs posted in the parking lots. This mobile payment solution allows you to pay for parking and also extend your parking session right from your smartphone.

Downtown's Re-park By-law

You cannot extend your parking limit by re-parking on other streets under the Re-park By-law 182-2002. You must wait for 5 hours until you park in downtown again. This by-law does not affect vehicles with valid and displayed Accessible Permits.

Accessible parking

All Patrons who have a valid and displayed accessible permit will receive free parking for a maximum of 24 hours in any municipal surface pay parking lot in the City of Brantford.

The re-park by-law does not apply to vehicles with a valid and displayed Accessible Permits.

Veteran parking

Vehicles displaying a valid veteran license plate are exempt from paying in all municipal surface lots for a period of up to 24 hours.

Request parking enforcement

Submit an online service request for assistance or you can request parking enforcement by following these steps:

  1. Call the Parking Enforcement office at 519-753-2311.
  2. Provide the parking location and the description of the vehicle, including the license plate number.
  3. Provide your contact information (your personal information will remain confidential).
  4. A Parking Enforcement Officer will conduct an investigation as soon as they are available.

Parking regulations

General parking regulations are outline in the lists below. The City also maintains a list of all proposed changes to on-street parking regulations for specific areas of the City currently under review by City Staff.

You cannot park your vehicle in the following areas:

  • On a sidewalk.
  • Within 0.5 metres of a public or private driveway.
  • Within 3 metres of a fire hydrant.
  • Within 25 metres of a bus sign.
  • On a school crossing.
  • Within 10 metres of an intersection.

  • If your truck has more than two axles or more than four tires, you cannot park on a street between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

  • You cannot park a tractor or trailer on a residential street unless you are delivering or picking up goods.

You cannot park on the side of a highway for more than 24 hours.

Vehicles with a valid accessible permit, clearly displayed may park in any of the Municipal Pay Lots for up to 24 hours at no cost.

  • Look out for signs prohibiting parking on one side of the street. You must follow alternate side parking regulations properly. These start on the first of each month (until the 15th), and from the 16th (until the end of the month) the parking is available on the opposite side.
