BT Connect Mobile App

BT Connect is Brantford Transit’s new mobile app, available starting May 5, 2025 for adult fares.

It provides a fast, secure and cashless way to pay your transit fare using your smartphone.

App Features:

• Available for Android and iOS devices
• Buy and store single rides or monthly passes
• Pay with a credit card (no extra fees)
• Built-in trip planning, maps, and schedule information
• Secure, account-based fare system

When using a purchased ride, the app will prompt you to request a free transfer for your trip.

Options for Reduced Fare Riders (via app)

Reduced fare options are available for senior, child, student, and CNIB fare categories through the BT Connect app. 

To set up a reduced fare account:

• Visit the Brantford Transit Terminal sales kiosk in person
• Bring valid documentation confirming your eligibility

Once approved, you can purchase and use reduced fare products directly in the app.

BT Connect Card (Physical Fare Card)

If you prefer not to use the app, you can use a BT Connect Card. This reloadable smart card makes fare payment quick and easy. 

Create an account before you purchase your BT Connect Card

To use a BT Connect Card, you must first create an online account. Be sure to click on the “Sign up” button. You will require an email address. If you do not have an email address, we encourage you to create a free email account.

Children 12 and under can continue to ride for free but must present proof of birth date at the Transit Terminal to receive a BT Connect Card.

Once your BT Connect account is created, you can visit the Brantford Transit Terminal (64 Darling Street) where you will obtain your BT Connect Card linked to your account.

What is a BT Connect Card?

The BT Connect Card is the same size as a debit or credit card. When boarding a bus, you can tap your card on the onboard validator to pay your fare. Each ride includes a free transfer.

Disposable BT Connect Card

• Pre-loaded with 2 adult rides
• Cost: $3.25 per ride
• Not reloadable

Multi-Value Refillable BT Connect Card

• One-time administration fee: $7.00
• Lost/damaged card replacement: $7.00
• Reloadable in ride bundles:

Reloadable 31-Day Pass BT Connect Card

• Provides unlimited travel for 31 consecutive days from purchase
• One-time administration fee: $7.00
• Requires in-person registration with photo
• Replacement for lost/damaged cards: $7.00

• Senior: $60.00
• Student: $60.00
• Affordability Program (formerly Disability): $60.00
• Brantford High School Summer Student (July and August only): $70.00
• CNIB: $42.50 (valid for 3 months)

• One Day (weekday ONLY) Single-Rider Pass: $10.25 per day, Monday to Friday
• One Day (weekend ONLY) Multiple-Rider (up to 2 adults) Pass: $10.25 per day, Saturday and Sunday

War veteran pass
