The 24-hour clock was activated as of 7:00 a.m. this morning. During this 24-hour period, individual customer service requests are temporarily paused to allow crews to focus on clean-up efforts. Following this 24-hour period, Operational Services staff will resume responding to individual concerns and service requests in priority order.
The City of Brantford, in partnership with the Brantford Accessibility Advisory Committee (BAAC), is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 City of Brantford Accessibility Improvement Awards.
City of Brantford Operational Services crews are continuing to clear roads according to the City’s Winter Control Plan, with routes cleared in priority order. At this time, crews are working through their fourth pass on the Red Routes (arterial roads) and are 50 per cent complete. Blue Routes (collector roads) are 30 per cent complete. As Blue Routes are completed, crews will move into Green Routes (residential areas), sidewalks, and multi-use paths.
A winter weather advisory is in effect today, with an expected total snow accumulation of 10 to 15 cm. Staff are closely monitoring weather conditions and have begun pre-treating priority roadways to lessen the storm's impact.
BRANTFORD, ON – The Medical Officer of Health (MOH) for Grand Erie Public Health is issuing a Cold Notification for the Grand Erie Public Health region (Brantford-Brant and Haldimand-Norfolk), effective January 22, 2026.
A Cold Notification is issued, by the MOH, when parts or all areas of the region are expected to reach temperatures below -15 ºC, or when wind chill values reach -20 ºC.
The Ontario government is investing $200,000 to support the City of Brantford’s successful bid to host the 2027 Ontario Parasport Games, the province’s largest multi-sport event for para-athletes.
Snow is expected today as a slow-moving system moves through the area, with up to 5 cm possible by midnight.

In order to allow City crews to focus on snow clearing and removal, staff have activated the 24-hour clock as of 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026. This means that individual customer requests for snow clearing operations are temporarily paused.
Snow continues to fall across the City, and staff are closely monitoring weather conditions, with plowing and salting operations well under way. Residents can find out whether their property is on a red, blue, or green route by visiting Brantford.ca/FindMySnowRoute.
