On Friday, December 12, 2025, Enbridge Gas Ontario (Enbridge Gas), the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) and the Brantford Fire Department announced they are working together to improve home safety and bring fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero.

The City of Brantford is advising residents to remain alert following reports of individuals going door-to-door claiming to represent the Brantford Fire Department and offering to check smoke alarms.

Additional snow accumulated over night and the 24-hour clock was activated as of 7:00 a.m. this morning.

The City of Brantford, in partnership with the Neighbourhood Alliance of Brantford is seeking Snow Buddy volunteers to help neighbours with clearing snow from sidewalks, driveways and walkways this winter.

A winter weather advisory is in effect overnight through tomorrow afternoon. Snowfall is expected to begin around 2 a.m., with an expected total accumulation between 5cm to 10cm. Some sleet or freezing rain is possible.

At a Special Council meeting held December 4, 2025, Brantford City Council officially approved the design and construction of the City’s new Sports and Entertainment Centre (SEC), marking a transformational investment in Brantford’s future and downtown revitalization.

Traffic control modifications will be in place on Brant Avenue at Dalhousie and Colborne Streets starting December 9 at approximately 2:30 a.m.

The Medical Officer of Health for the Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) has issued a cold weather notification, effective December 7, 2025. A cold weather notification is issued when temperatures are expected to reach -15°C, (or -20° with windchill).
