City of Brantford 2025 Thanksgiving weekend schedule changes

BRANTFORD, ON – For the public’s information, the following schedule changes will be in place during the upcoming Thanksgiving long weekend from Friday, October 10 to Monday, October 13, 2025. There are no changes to regularly scheduled garbage, recycling and green bin collection. Please place your waste at the curb by 7 a.m.

Brantford City Hall, Customer Service and Parking Enforcement Office

Brantford City Hall, Customer Service and the Parking Enforcement Office will be closed at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10 and reopen on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. While closed, all customer service calls will be taken by the City’s after-hours provider that can be reached by calling the City’s Customer Service number at 519-759-4150.

Brantford Transit and Brantford Lift

• Brantford Transit will offer regular service schedules on Friday, October 10, Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12. There will be no service available on Monday, October 12, 2025. Regular schedules resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
• Brantford Lift will offer regular service schedules on Friday, October 10, Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12. There will be no service available on Monday, October 13, 2025. Regular schedules resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Bell Homestead National Historic Site

The Bell Homestead National Historic Site will be closed at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 10 reopen on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Brantford Public Libraries

All City of Brantford library branches will be open on Friday, October 10 and will be closed at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 and reopen at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Cemetery Services

The Brantford Cemetery Main Office will be closed at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 10 and reopen on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 8 a.m.

City of Brantford Community Centres

• Branlyn Community Centre will be open regular hours on Friday, October 10, 2025, open for rentals only on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12, 2025 and closed on Monday, October 13, 2025. Regular schedules resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
• Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre will be open regular hours on Friday, October 10, 2025, and will be closed on Saturday, October 11, Sunday, October 12 and Monday, October 13, 2025. Regular schedules resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
• T.B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre will be open regular hours on Friday, October 10, 2025, open for rentals only on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12, 2025 and closed on Monday, October 13, 2025. Regular schedules resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
• Woodman Park Community Centre will be open regular hours on Friday, October 10, 2025, and will be closed on Saturday, October 11, Sunday, October 12 and Monday, October 13, 2025. Regular schedules resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

City of Brantford Arenas

• Brantford and District Civic Centre will be open on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11, 2025, open for pre-booked rentals only on Sunday, October 11 and Monday, October 12, 2025. Regular schedules resume on Tuesday, October 13, 2025.
• Lions Park arena will be open on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11, 2025, open for pre-booked rentals only on Sunday, October 12 and Monday, October 13, 2025. Regular schedules resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre

The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre will be open regular hours on Friday, October 10, Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12, 2025.

On Monday, October 13, 2025, the following schedule will be in place:

• Weight Room: closed
• Drop-in Sports: no programs scheduled
• Pools: closed
• Kid Care Plus: closed
• Fitness classes: no classes scheduled
• Indoor track: open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Arenas: open for rentals
• Discover Brantford Desk: open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition: open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Ontario Works Brantford-Brant Main Office

The Ontario Works Brantford-Brant main office at 225 Colborne St. will be closed at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10 and reopen on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.

Mohawk Street Landfill

The Mohawk Street Landfill will be open regular hours on Friday, October 10, Saturday, October 11 and Monday, October 13, 2025. The Mohawk Street Landfill is closed on Sundays.
