City of Brantford issues Artist Call for Tutela Park Mural
BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford is inviting a regional artist or an artist team to transform a utility building in Tutela Park, located at 160 Erie Avenue, with an original mural. Eligible artists are invited to submit expressions of interest and qualifications through the online form at Brantford.ca/TutelaParkMural by Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
The commissioned artist will be selected through a one-stage process. A selection panel made up of practicing arts professionals and community members will evaluate submissions based on established scoring criteria and panel deliberation. The total project budget is $5,500, inclusive of all associated costs, with installation of the mural planned for summer or early fall 2026.
This call is open to all professional artists who are eligible to work in Canada and live in Ontario, with special consideration given to local artists in the City of Brantford, the County of Brant, Six Nations of the Grand River, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Artist applications will be reviewed on the basis of artistic excellence, expressed written interest in the project, a visual rendering of their idea for the mural, and other professional qualification criteria.
