Brantford’s beloved HipFest concert returns to Harmony Square on August 16

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford’s free popular outdoor rock concert HipFest returns to Harmony Square in downtown Brantford, on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This free live music event performed by The Practically Hip celebrates the music and legacy of The Tragically Hip and is proudly presented by Millards Chartered Professional Accountants.

“The Tragically Hip has a unique power to unite people,” says Jennifer Middleton, Special Events Supervisor for the City of Brantford. “Their music creates a community that transcends time, bringing together people from all walks of life. The City of Brantford is thankful for the ongoing support of our local sponsors; Millards Chartered Professional Accountants, the Downtown Brantford BIA, Farm Boy, and West Brant Window World who help provide free events for residents to enjoy.”

The Practically Hip has been performing the music their fans love for over 20 years at clubs, festivals, universities and colleges, and private events throughout North America and beyond. The band is passionate about the material and especially passionate about capturing the nuances and spirit of the original performances. Attendees will be amazed by the vocal ability and sheer stage presence of Dean Hughes as he interprets and recreates the full Gord Downie experience, all as part of a phenomenal five-piece band which gives its audiences the highest level of energy and musicianship the Hip is known for! Take in the performance that embodies all the best of the Hip and leaves audiences raving everywhere.

Capture the moment and take home a free photo souvenir from the photo booth, proudly sponsored by the Downtown BIA. It’s a great way to create lasting memories while enjoying the event.

Support local at the on-site marketplace where a variety of vendors and artisans will be selling a variety of handmade goods, unique treasures and more. Delicious food and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available to purchase throughout the evening.

Free parking is available on Saturday, August 16, 2025 in the Municipal Parkade located at 59 Icomm Drive. Brantford Transit is also available to attendees looking for transportation to Harmony Square with the main terminal conveniently located only one block away. For attendees looking for accessible transportation, Brantford Lift can be booked up to 30-days in advance up to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025.
