Brantford Transit Rates
You can ride Brantford Transit by paying a cash fare, using the BT Connect mobile app, or using a BT Connect Card. Current fares are:
- Adult: $3.00
- Senior: $3.00
- Student: $3.00
- Child (5–12 years): Free
- Child (4 years and under): Free
- Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB): $1.75
Exact change is required when paying with cash. Drivers do not carry change.
BT Connect Mobile App
BT Connect is Brantford Transit’s new mobile app, available starting May 5, 2025 for adult fares.
It provides a fast, secure and cashless way to pay your transit fare using your smartphone.
App Features:
- Available for Android and iOS devices
- Buy and store single rides or monthly passes
- Pay with a credit card (no extra fees)
- Built-in trip planning, maps, and schedule information
- Secure, account-based fare system
When using a purchased ride, the app will prompt you to request a free transfer for your trip.
Options for Reduced Fare Riders (via app)
Starting May 5, 2025, reduced fare options will be available for seniors through the BT Connect app. Beginning May 20, 2025, reduced fare options will also be available for child, student, and CNIB fare categories.
To set up a reduced fare account:
- Visit the Brantford Transit Terminal sales kiosk in person
- Bring valid documentation confirming your eligibility
Once approved, you can purchase and use reduced fare products directly in the app.

BT Connect Card (Physical Fare Card)
If you prefer not to use the app, you can use a BT Connect Card—a reloadable smart card that makes fare payment quick and easy. Cards will be available starting June 2, 2025, and the sale of current fare products, including the B-Card, will be discontinued. However, existing fare products will continue to be accepted for payment until further notice.
It is important that you create an account before obtaining the card. You can create your account online. Be sure to click on the “Sign up” button.
What is a BT Connect Card?
The BT Connect Card is the same size as a debit or credit card. When boarding a bus, you can tap your card on the onboard validator to pay your fare. Each ride includes a free transfer.

- Cost: $2.90 per ride
- Not reloadable
Multi-Value Refillable BT Connect Card
- One-time administration fee: $5.75
- Lost/damaged card replacement: $5.75
