Ava Road Bridge underpass to reopen today
BRANTFORD, ON – With major construction nearing completion, the City of Brantford is preparing to reopen the underpass beneath the Ava Road Bridge to westbound traffic from Brant Avenue to Ava Road on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, weather permitting. The temporary concrete barriers and detour currently in place are scheduled for removal this week.
While the underpass will reopen to vehicular traffic, residents should be aware that some minor work will continue in the project area over the coming weeks, including landscaping and final adjustments. Drivers are reminded to proceed with caution around active work zones.
The Ava Road Bridge Rehabilitation project is funded in part through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF). Full project completion is anticipated in the coming weeks.
