City of Brantford and County of Brant provide additional time for public review of updated map and continued work on draft Airport Boundary Adjustment Agreement

BRANTFORD, COUNTY OF BRANT, ON: The City of Brantford and the County of Brant are notifying residents that the proposed Airport Boundary Adjustment statutory public meetings previously scheduled for July 27th and July 29th, 2026, have been rescheduled. The City of Brantford's statutory public meeting will now take place on Monday, August 10th, 2026, and the County of Brant's statutory public meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026, both at 6:00 p.m. at their respective Council Chambers.

This decision was made jointly by both municipalities to provide residents and landowners with additional time to review the updated Airport Boundary Adjustment map, which was released last week, and to allow municipal representatives to continue working together toward a draft restructuring agreement. City and County staff are constructively working through the final details of the proposed boundary adjustment agreement to ensure it reflects the objectives of both municipalities, as well as the feedback and concerns that have been shared by members of the public throughout this process. Both municipalities remain committed to transparency and meaningful public engagement and are working toward a draft agreement that reflects what has been heard to date. The draft agreement will be released publicly in advance of the rescheduled statutory public meetings to provide residents with sufficient time to review before the public statutory meetings.

Updated details regarding both meetings, including how to participate and how to access the draft restructuring agreement once available, will be communicated publicly in advance of the new meeting dates. Residents are also encouraged to continue submitting questions and comments through the Let's Talk Brantford engagement portal at LetsTalkBrantford.ca/Airport.

Both the City of Brantford and the County of Brant thank residents for their continued engagement as this process unfolds and remain committed to ensuring the community has a full and meaningful opportunity to participate before any final decisions are made.
