City of Brantford announces Wayne Robinson as new Deputy Fire Chief

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford is pleased to announce the appointment of Wayne Robinson to the role of Deputy Fire Chief of Operations for the Brantford Fire Department.
Following a recruitment process, Deputy Fire Chief Robinson was selected for the role based on his extensive experience in fire operations, training and organizational leadership. With more than 23 years of experience with the Brantford Fire Department, he began his career as a firefighter in 2003 and was promoted to Captain and Acting Platoon Chief in 2024. Throughout his career, Deputy Fire Chief Robinson has been heavily involved in the technical rescue program on shift and providing training at other educational institutes, while continuing his own professional development through fire department management at Dalhousie University.
“We are very pleased to have recruited this position from within the Brantford Fire Department,” says Brantford Fire Chief Todd Binkley. “Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Robinson brings with him many years of experience and education that will prove invaluable to the role and our community.”

Deputy Fire Chief Robinson will begin his new role on Monday, June 1, 2026.
