CITY OF BRANTFORD NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING PROPOSED MUNICIPAL BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENT Section 173(3) of the Municipal Act, 2001
In May 2026, the City of Brantford and County of Brant signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which would bring 1,317 acres of land currently under the jurisdiction of the County of Brant into the City of Brantford’s municipal boundary.
Following public engagement in June and July, both City and County Councils have agreed to a restructuring proposal and revised transfer area that no longer includes 469 acres of agricultural and natural heritage land that was in the originally proposed transfer area. The updated map, consisting of 848 acres versus the original 1,317 is shown below.
The City of Brantford public statutory public meeting to consider the municipal boundary adjustment will be held on:

Time: 6:00 p.m.
Place: Council Chambers, Brantford City Hall, 58 Dalhousie Street.

Members of the public may attend the Public Meeting in-person or virtually.
In-Person: while registration is not required, pre-registration is encouraged. The Meeting Chair will call for members of the public in attendance to speak. Members of the public who wish to speak to Council will be allotted 10 minutes each.
