CITY OF BRANTFORD NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING - PROPOSED MUNICIPAL BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENT Section 173(3) of the Municipal Act, 2001.

In May 2026, the City of Brantford and County of Brant signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which would bring 1,317 acres of land currently under the jurisdiction of the County of Brant into the City of Brantford’s municipal boundary.

Following public engagement in May and June, both City and County Councils have agreed to a restructuring proposal and revised transfer area that removes 469 acres of agricultural land from the originally proposed transfer area. The updated map, now consisting of 848 acres versus the original 1,317 is shown below.

The City of Brantford public statutory public meeting to consider the municipal boundary adjustment will be held on:
