City of Brantford Releases 2025 Annual Report

BRANTFORD, ON:  The City of Brantford has released its 2025 Annual Report, detailing a year of growth and progress across the City's key strategic priorities. “In 2025, Brantford made important progress on major priorities including downtown revitalization, transit improvements, housing supports, economic development, climate action, recreation, culture, and community inclusion,” said Mayor Kevin Davis. “As Mayor, I am proud of the work outlined in this report and encouraged by the direction our city is taking. Brantford’s future will be defined by how we balance growth with livability, opportunity with compassion, and progress with respect for the people and places that make our community unique.”

2025 Annual Report Highlights 

In transit and infrastructure, construction began on the Brant's Crossing Bridge replacement and on Phase 1 of Downtown Revitalization along Brant Avenue and Icomm Drive, renewing aging underground infrastructure to support future downtown growth. Two new bus routes launched under the City's “Moving Forward” transit plan, and City staff maintained 1,195 km of roads and 231 km of trails and bike lanes across the city.

Adding to the growth of our local economy, in 2025 we were proud to attract the $445-million Ferrero expansion and Hilton Foods' $192-million first North American facility, part of more than $772 million in committed industrial investment and 2,000-plus jobs added to the local economy in 2025. For the sixth consecutive year, Site Selection Magazine named Brantford one of Canada's Best Locations for Investment. On the tourism and culture front, the City welcomed an estimated 1.1 million visitors, hosted the 2025 Special Olympics Provincial Summer Games and a new Beats & Eats festival.

The City also advanced key supports for vulnerable residents, approving a three-phased plan to transform the former Foxridge long-term care facility at 389 West St. into an integrated housing hub offering shelter, transitional and permanent affordable housing. In total, 1,281 housing permits were issued and 49 new affordable units reached occupancy in Paris.

Climate action milestones included converting 1,134 streetlights to LED, planting more than 6,200 trees, and cutting corporate carbon emissions by 63.5 tonnes of CO2e annually.

Looking ahead, Brantford is preparing for its next chapter of growth. Construction on the new 5,300-seat Sports and Entertainment Centre is currently underway. Work also continue work on the Integrated Housing Hub, support for a new hospital, and the City's three-year Foreign Direct Investment Strategy to attract further international business to Brantford.
