Downtown Brantford temporary traffic and access changes

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford is advising residents, businesses and motorists of temporary traffic and access changes in downtown Brantford related to multiple construction projects.

Market Street South road closure May 4 to 8, 2026
Market Street South will be temporarily closed from May 4 to 8 for watermain and sanitary servicing work related to the construction of the new Sports and Entertainment Centre.

West Street lane and sidewalk closures May 4 to June 26, 2026
Temporary lane and sidewalk closures will be in place on West Street, in front of 354 West Street, extending from Charing Cross Street toward Harris Avenue, from May 4 to June 26, daily between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., weather permitting.

These closures are required to accommodate sewer and water infrastructure work, including watermain replacement, being completed under a City-issued permit. Local access to nearby properties will be maintained throughout the project. This is not a City of Brantford construction project and the work is being managed by T. Musselman Excavating under a City-issued permit.

Market Centre Parkade access changes effective April 27 for up to 6 weeks
The Hill Street exit of the Market Centre Parkade is temporarily closed for ongoing construction for up to 6 weeks. During this time, parkade entrances remain available via Icomm Drive, Hill Street, Wharfe Street and the Farmers’ Market parking lot. The only parkade exit is via Icomm Drive.
