Downtown Revitalization Project weekly update: August 24 to 28, 2026

BRANTFORD, ON – Installation of underground infrastructure and road construction on Icomm Drive continues. Deep sanitary sewer installations have been completed, and work commences on the storm sewer and watermain. Traffic changes will occur September 1, 2026, to support ongoing construction.
Icomm Drive closure remains in place

The closure of Icomm Drive is expected to remain in place until the end of September. The following temporary traffic changes will be implemented September 1, 2026, and last for up to one month:

  • Icomm Drive will be closed west of the eastern Casino entrance west of Market Street South.
    Hill Street will be closed at Icomm Drive.
  • Access to the Market Centre Parkade entrance and exit on Hill Street will be maintained via Water Street.
  • Access to accessible parking stalls located on the first level of the Parkade will be accessible via Water Street to Hill Street.
  • The Brantford Elements Casino’s westernmost driveway on Icomm Drive will be closed. Access to the easternmost driveway on Icomm Drive will remain available from the east side of Icomm Drive.

Lorne Bridge Bell Canada utility relocation update

Telecommunications splicing work has been completed throughout most of West Brant. Final splicing at maintenance holes on either side of the Lorne Bridge is planned in the coming weeks. Following this work, Bell Canada’s utility relocation will be complete.

Public advisory

Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to follow posted signage and allow extra travel time. Detour routes are being monitored and adjusted as needed to support traffic flow.
