Downtown Revitalization Project weekly update: July 13 to 17, 2026

BRANTFORD, ON – Installation of underground infrastructure and road construction on Icomm Drive will continue over the coming weeks, with traffic controls remaining in place throughout the construction area.

Icomm Drive closure remains in place

To support the safe, efficient installation of deep sanitary infrastructure, Icomm Drive is fully closed between Colborne Street and Hill Street. One lane remains open in each direction between Hill Street and Clarence Street South. Detours are available via Colborne Street, Dalhousie Street, and Clarence Street South.

The closure of Icomm Drive is expected to remain in place until the end of August. The map below shows the affected lanes and traffic restrictions.

Icomm Drive lane closures with full closure between Colborne Street East and Hill Street, and lane closures between Hill Street and Clarence Street South maintaining one lane in each direction.

Concrete and asphalt paving work is underway on Icomm Drive between Market Street South and Clarence Street South to restore the road surface. Additional surface restoration work will continue over the coming weeks, with lanes in this area expected to reopen as work is completed.

Lorne Bridge Bell Canada utility relocation update

Telecommunications splicing work has been completed throughout most of West Brant. Final splicing at maintenance holes on either side of the Lorne Bridge is planned in the coming weeks. Following this work, Bell Canada's utility relocation will be complete.

Public Advisory

Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to follow posted signage and allow extra travel time. Detour routes are being monitored and adjusted as needed to support traffic flow.
