Downtown Revitalization Project weekly update: June 15 to 19, 2026

BRANTFORD, ONInstallation of underground infrastructure along Icomm Drive and Hill Street continues this week, with traffic controls remaining in place throughout the construction area.

The Hill Street exit of the Market Centre Parkade is temporarily closed for construction and is expected to reopen by the end of June. All parkade entrances remain open. Vehicles must exit using Icomm Drive.

Icomm Drive closures beginning Wednesday, June 24

To support the safe and efficient installation of deep sanitary infrastructure, Icomm Drive will be fully closed between Colborne Street and Hill Street beginning Wednesday, June 24, 2026. One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open between Hill Street and Clarence Street South. Detours around the closure will be available via Colborne Street,  Dalhousie Street and Clarence Street South.

The closures are expected to remain in place until the end of August. The map below shows the affected lanes and traffic restrictions.

Icomm Drive lane closures with full closure between Colborne Street East and Hill Street, and lane closures between Hill Street and Clarence Street South maintaining one lane in each direction. 

Lorne Bridge Bell Canada utility relocation completed

Bell Canada utility relocation work in the area of Brant Avenue and Colborne Street West was completed on June 5, 2026. Telecommunications splicing work will continue over the coming weeks in West Brant and intermittent lane or sidewalk closures may be required. Brant Avenue lane closures are expected to be removed by the end of day June 11, 2026.

Public Advisory

Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to follow posted signage and allow extra travel time. Detour routes are being monitored and adjusted as needed to support traffic flow.
