Downtown Revitalization Project weekly update: May 15 to 22, 2026

BRANTFORD, ON – Installation of underground infrastructure along Icomm Drive continues this week, with traffic controls remaining in place throughout the construction area.

One southbound lane remains open from Brant Avenue to Market Street South, with a single lane in each direction between Market Street South and Clarence Street South.

The Hill Street exit of the Market Centre Parkade is temporarily closed for construction and is expected to reopen by the end of June. All parkade entrances remain open. Vehicles must exit using Icomm Drive.

Lorne Bridge Bell Canada utility relocation May 11 to 22, 2026

In the area of Brant Avenue and Colborne Street West, temporary lane and sidewalk closures will be required to allow for telecommunications work in advance of the Lorne Bridge rehabilitation. Pedestrian detours will be clearly marked.

Upcoming work

Market Street South road closure May 19 to 22, 2026

Market Street South will be temporarily closed to complete watermain and sanitary servicing work related to the new Sports and Entertainment Centre.

Motorists are asked to follow posted signage and allow extra travel time. Detour routes are being monitored and adjusted as needed to support traffic flow.
