Market Street South reopening May 22, 2026
Market Street South is temporarily closed for watermain and sanitary servicing work related to the new Sports and Entertainment Centre. The road is expected to reopen on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Brant’s Crossing Bridge Replacement
Delivery and installation of the new bridge spans is planned to take place between May 22 and May 29, 2026. Intermittent rolling road closures will be required on Colborne Street West near Fordview Trail and on Market Street South at Erie Avenue to accommodate bridge span deliveries and installation work. Temporary parking restrictions will also be in place on Colborne Street West between Oak Street and Gilkison Street during scheduled deliveries to accommodate oversized transport vehicles. For public safety, Brant’s Crossing Bridge, Brant’s Crossing Park, Fordview Park, and all fenced construction areas remain closed throughout construction.
Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are asked to follow posted signage and allow extra travel time. Detour routes are being monitored and adjusted as needed to support traffic flow.
