Downtown Revitalization Project weekly update: October 12 to 19, 2026
BRANTFORD, ON – Road work on the south side of Icomm Drive is expected to be completed this week. Weather permitting, the south lanes are expected to reopen to two-way traffic as early as October 12, 2026.
Lorne Bridge eastbound lane reduction, Brant Avenue lane reductions and Colborne Street closure
To complete the remaining work along Brant Avenue, the following temporary traffic changes are expected to take effect as early as the week of October 12, 2026, and remain in place for up to three months, weather permitting:
- Brant Avenue between Dalhousie and Colborne Streets will be reduced to two lanes, with one in each direction.
- Dalhousie Street between Bridge Street and Brant Avenue will be reduced to one lane.
- Colborne Street will be closed at Brant Avenue.
- The Lorne Bridge west of Brant Avenue will be reduced to one eastbound lane and all westbound lanes will remain open.

Public advisory
Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to follow posted signage and allow extra travel time. Detour routes are being monitored and adjusted as needed to support traffic flow.
Supporting local businesses
Local businesses directly affected by construction have been notified. Businesses will remain open during this time, including those located along Colborne Street east of Brant Avenue. Please continue to support local businesses.
