The City of Brantford and OLG continue creating enduring legacies

BRANTFORD, ON: Today, the City of Brantford hosted a community recognition event within Brantford’s beautiful Mohawk Park to acknowledge the significant impact that revenues received from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) have made to the Brantford community.

Since 1999, the City has re-invested casino funds through annual contributions to not-for-profit organizations, administered by the Brant Community Foundation. As of November, the City has received more than $110 million dollars in total gaming revenue payments from OLG as a host community, including $4,718,169 in 2025-26.

“Since this program’s inception, the City has proudly re-invested these funds through annual contributions to support the efforts of various not-for-profit organizations in our community,” says Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis. “We are deeply grateful for the ongoing partnership with OLG and for their ongoing commitment as a corporate citizen and generous contributor to Brantford's growth and well-being.”

“OLG truly values being a long-standing partner in the City of Brantford and communities across Ontario,” said Kathleen Devine, OLG’s Senior Municipal Relations Manager. “Every dollar of OLG’s profit is returned to Ontario to support the things people care about most, like critical infrastructure, local initiatives, grant programs and community events. Those dollars are making a difference here in Brantford. “The Brant Community Foundation is proud of its partnership with the City of Brantford and its City Grants community granting program.  Since 2001, the program has helped to shape the vitality and sense of belonging that is enjoyed in our community.  The City is committed to working with local charities and nonprofit organizations to facilitate opportunities to enhance community wellbeing through grants that align with the City’s Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan priority areas.  “The Brant Community Foundation plays a key role in carefully reviewing applications and recommending funding, ensuring that grants make the greatest possible impact across the community” said Anne Marie Peirce, Executive Director of the Brant Community Foundation.  

To date, the Brant Community Foundation has administered over 1,600 grants on behalf of the City. Many of these organizations would not be able to continue to deliver vital programs and services to our community without the essential support provided by the City and the Casino Legacy Fund.
