Winter Event December 29, 2025
A winter weather advisory is in effect today and into tomorrow morning. Snowfall is expected, with total accumulations between 3 cm and 5 cm, along with strong wind gusts that could exceed 80 km/h. Snow squalls and blowing snow are possible.
Staff are closely monitoring weather conditions, and plowing and salting operations will follow the City’s Winter Control Plan in priority sequence to clear the city’s extensive 1,400 lane kilometres. Residents can find out whether their property is on a red, blue, or green route by visiting Brantford.ca/FindMySnowRoute.
Residents are reminded to keep vehicles off the road where possible to allow crews to operate safely and efficiently. Please use caution around plows, keep your distance, and avoid passing.
Once the snow stops falling, the City activates a 24-hour clock, during which service requests to Operational Services are temporarily paused while crews focus on clean-up efforts. After a snow-free 24-hour period, Operational Services staff resume responding to individual concerns and service requests in priority order.
