Winter Event January 25, 2026 (Update #1)

City of Brantford Operational Services crews are continuing to clear roads according to the City’s Winter Control Plan, with routes cleared in priority order.  At this time, crews are working through their fourth pass on the Red Routes (arterial roads) and are 50 per cent complete. Blue Routes (collector roads) are 30 per cent complete. As Blue Routes are completed, crews will move into Green Routes (residential areas), sidewalks, and multi-use paths.

The windrow clearing contractor will be dispatched once Red Routes are complete.

Snow flurries and blowing snow are expected throughout the night into the morning. Residents are reminded to keep vehicles off the road where possible to allow crews to operate safely and efficiently. Please use caution around plows, keep your distance, and avoid passing.

Once the snow stops falling, the City activates a 24-hour clock, during which service requests to Operational Services are temporarily paused while crews focus on clean-up efforts. After a snow-free 24-hour period, Operational Services staff resume responding to individual concerns and service requests in priority order.

We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to make our roads clear and safe for travel. Learn more at Brantford.ca/WinterControl.
