Winter Event January 25, 2026

A winter weather advisory is in effect today, with an expected total snow accumulation of 10 to 15 cm. Staff are closely monitoring weather conditions and have begun pre-treating priority roadways to lessen the storm's impact.

As snowfall is expected to continue, plowing and salting operations will follow the City’s Winter Control Plan in priority sequence to clear the city’s extensive 1,400 lane kilometres. Residents can find out whether their property is on a red, blue, or green route by visiting Brantford.ca/FindMySnowRoute.

Residents are reminded to keep vehicles off the road where possible to allow crews to operate safely and efficiently. Please use caution around plows, keep your distance, and avoid passing. 

Once the snow stops falling, the City activates a 24-hour clock, during which service requests to Operational Services are temporarily paused while crews focus on clean-up efforts. After a snow-free 24-hour period, Operational Services staff resume responding to individual concerns and service requests in priority order.
