Regarding: Notice of Public Meeting - City-Initiated Application to Amend Zoning By-Law 124-2024 (Housekeeping Amendments)

Purpose of Proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment
Zoning By-law Amendment Application PZ-10-25 proposes City-initiated updates to Zoning By-law No. 124-2024 to correct errors and omissions, and update zoning regulations requiring clarification. The proposed changes include:
- Correcting typographical errors and aligning terminology within By-law 124-2024.
- Correcting site-specific zones that were incorrectly carried over from By-law 160-90 and 61-16.
- Removing references to food service vehicles, as these are covered under the City of Brantford Licensing By-law.
- Correcting Core Natural Zone boundaries for properties on Summerhayes Crescent and Lakeside Drive.
- Adding zone regulations for fourplexes, group homes, and lodging houses.
- Revising parking regulations for warehouse uses.
- Clarifying definitions for Commercial Vehicles and Shipping Containers.
- Revising regulations for Surface Treatment Parking and Temporary Shipping Containers.

Written comments can also be sent to the address noted above.
- If you wish to be notified of the decision of the City of Brantford you must make a written request to the Clerk, City of Brantford, City Hall, 58 Dalhousie Street, Brantford ON N3T 5R7.
- If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Brantford before the By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the City of Brantford Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT). If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the City of Brantford before the By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
- You may attend the Public Meeting in-person or virtually and you are encouraged to provide comments in writing or via email in advance of the meeting. Comments can be submitted by emailing the City Staff Contact noted above anytime prior to the meeting.
- In-Person: no registration is required. The Meeting Chair will call for members of the public in attendance to speak to the item.
- Virtual participation option (for those not attending in person at City Hall): If you would like to participate and speak at the Public Meeting virtually via Zoom, please register by visiting https://calendar.brantford.ca/meetings and select the June 12, 2025 Planning Committee meeting. - Article 18 in the City of Brantford’s Procedural By-law provides rules of holding hybrid meetings at the City of Brantford.
- Personal information collected and recorded at the Public Information Meeting or through written submissions on this subject, is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, and the Planning Act, 1990 R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13 and will be used by Members of Council or Committee and City of Brantford staff in their consideration of this matter. The written submissions, including names and contact information and the associated reports arising from the public participation process, will be made available to the public, including publishing on the City’s website. Video recordings of the Public Participation Meeting may also be posted to the City of Brantford’s website.
