City of Brantford 2026 Labour Day holiday programming and schedule changes

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford is pleased to offer golf, pickleball and pool programming on Monday, September 7, 2026. There will be some schedule changes in place for some city facilities on the Labour Day holiday. There are no changes to the collection of regularly scheduled garbage, recycling, and green bin collection.

Earl Haig Family Fun Park 

The waterpark will be open, weather permitting, on Monday, September 7, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with pools closing at 5:30 p.m. Park amenities include lazy river, splash pad, leisure pool and waterslide and mini putt. Detailed information can be found at www.Brantford.ca/EarlHaig.

Woodman Pool and Community Centre

The outdoor pool will be open, weather permitting, on Monday, September 7, 2026 for Length Swimming for ages 15 and older, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Public Swim for all ages to enjoy, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Swim Admission Requirements and Swim Admission Rates will apply. The Community Centre will be open for pickleball on Monday, September 7, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Regular rates apply. Find detailed information at www.Brantford.ca/Pickleball.

Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course, Wally’s Grill and Patio and Lawn Bowling

The Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course and Learning Centre, driving range, Pro Shop and Wally’s Grill and Patio will be open on Monday, September 7, 2026. Tee off times begin at 7 a.m. with the last tee time at 7 p.m. Tee times can be booked online at www.Brantford.ca/Golf. The Pro Shop and driving range are open from 7 a.m. to dusk. Wally’s Grill and Patio is open for anyone to enjoy family-friendly fare from 10 a.m. to dusk. The lawn bowling facility is closed on Monday, September 7, 2026.

City of Brantford facility schedule changes on Monday, September 7, 2026

Brantford City Hall, Customer Service and Parking Enforcement Office

Brantford City Hall at 58 Dalhousie Street will close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026 and reopen on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. While closed, all customer service calls will be routed to the City’s after-hours provider.

Brantford Transit and Brantford Lift

• Brantford Transit will not offer service on Monday, September 7, 2026. 
• Brantford Lift will not offer service on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Brantford Public Libraries

All City of Brantford library branches will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Bell Homestead National Historic Site

The Bell Homestead National Historic Site and The Exchange Café will be closed Monday, September 7, 2026.

Cemetery Services 

The Brantford Cemetery Main Office will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026.

City of Brantford Arenas

• Lions Park Arena will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026.
• TD Civic Centre will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026.

City of Brantford Community Centres

• Branlyn Community Centre will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026
• Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026
• T.B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026
• Woodman Park Community Centre will be open for Holiday Pickleball from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026. Regular rates apply. Find detailed information at www.Brantford.ca/Pickleball. Woodman pool will be open.

Mohawk Street Landfill 

The Mohawk Street Landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Ontario Works Brantford-Brant Main Office 

The Ontario Works Brantford-Brant main office at 225 Colborne Street will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre

The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, including the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition and Discover Brantford Desk.
