Lane reductions and closures on Mount Pleasant Road beginning October 27, 2026
BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford, through its contractor L82 (East) Construction Inc., is continuing road, sewer and watermain reconstruction on Mount Pleasant Road and Street between Tutela Heights Road and Beckett Drive as part of the Mount Pleasant Phase 2 Reconstruction Project.
Beginning October 27, 2026, lane reductions and closures will be in place on Mount Pleasant Road between Tutela Heights Road and Gilkison Street to accommodate microtunnelling work. These traffic changes are expected to remain in place into 2027.
Traffic impacts
One lane will remain open for southbound traffic between Tutela Heights Road and Gilkison Street. Northbound traffic will not be permitted through this section. The intersection of Gilkison Street and Mount Pleasant Street will also be closed. Access to the Lions Park Arena baseball diamond parking lot will be maintained from the east end of Gilkison Street. Drivers must follow the designated detour routes. Truck traffic will be detoured via Phelps Road and Erie Avenue, while all other traffic will be detoured via Conklin Road, Shellard Lane, and Veterans Memorial Parkway.

Access to properties will be maintained wherever possible. Residents directly affected by the construction have been notified.
The City appreciates the community’s patience and understanding while this important infrastructure work is underway. For more information and project updates, visit Brantford.ca/MtPleasantConstruction.
