Mount Pleasant Street and Road Construction

About the project

The City of Brantford is continuing improvements to water, wastewater and road infrastructure in the Tutela Heights area through Phase 2 of the Mount Pleasant Street and Road Construction project.

Building on work completed during Phase 1 in 2025, this phase will upgrade underground infrastructure, replace watermains, install trunk sanitary sewers and reconstruct sections of Mount Pleasant Street and Mount Pleasant Road. These improvements will support existing properties, accommodate future growth in the area, and bring infrastructure up to current City standards.

Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2026 and continue through 2028.

Previous work completed

Phase 1 was completed in 2025 and included:

  • Installation of a trunk sanitary sewer on Gilkison Street

  • Assumption of the water distribution system from the County of Brant
  • Surface improvements

  • Watermain replacement on Mount Pleasant Street between Gilkison Street and Beckett Drive
  • Sanitary sewer installation between Gilkison Street and Magee Street
  • Road reconstruction and base asphalt paving
