Construction Updates

Construction for the Brantford Sports and Entertainment Centre has begun. Groundbreaking took place on February 23, and job trailers were set up on site on March 13. Early construction activity has focused on site mobilization and preparation, including stormwater work, ground improvement and bringing the subgrade up to support the next stages of construction.

The first milestone in vertical construction was the installation of the four pre-cast stair cores along with the precast bleacher supports. Structural steel will begin in fall 2026, followed by building envelope work in winter 2026.

Residents had an opportunity to leave their mark on the future Brantford Sports & Entertainment Centre at a steel signing event on September 25, 2026. Their names will become part of the building when the signed steel is installed, a lasting connection between the community and this exciting project. 

Over the next few months, residents will see the Brantford Sports & Entertainment Centre begin to take shape as crews erect the structural steel framework. This exciting milestone will make the progress increasingly visible, revealing the outline of the SEC as work moves upward.
