Advisory Committees and Boards are long term groups established under various legislation or needs of the City. Task Forces are short term committees for specific initiatives with a specific end date. Members contribute to the development of policies, procedures and initiatives by working with Council to improve services and programs for our community. All Committee Meetings are open to the public and all agendas are posted on the Council and Committee calendar.
The purpose is to act as a Property Standards Committee as set forth in the Building Code Act, 1992, S.O. 1992, c.23; and to hear appeals regarding orders to muzzle dogs; and to hear appeals of No Trespass Orders; and to hear appeals for the refusal to grant or revocation of a license.

The role of each Joint Use Committee is to provide support to the Staff Advisory Committee and provide assistance with resolving issues related to the Joint Use Agreements. The Joint Use Committees set out to ensure that the terms of each Joint Use Agreement are followed and enforced in a fair and consistent way.
One Committee is formed by The City of Brantford and the Grand Erie District School Board, and one Committee is formed by The City of Brantford and the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. The committees are entirely separate and each function according to a separate agreement.
