Nominations open May 1 for Brantford’s 2026 Municipal Election

The City of Brantford is advising prospective candidates that nominations for the 2026 Municipal Election open on Friday, May 1, 2026. Candidate application packages are available starting April 20, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the City Hall Customer Service Desk and online at Brantford.ca/Nomination.

Candidates must file their nomination in person at Brantford City Hall, 58 Dalhousie Street, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding statutory holidays), from May 1, 2026 to August 21, 2026.

Nomination Day is Friday, August 21, 2026, and nomination papers may be filed between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Eligible candidates will be officially certified by the Clerk on Monday, August 24, 2026.
