The following is a listing of temporary right of way closures which can include: full or partial road closures, full or partial sidewalk closures, full or partial shoulder and boulevard closures and full or partial bike lane closures. Closure or occupancy of other space in the right of way is also possible.

The closures in this list are the result of City Construction projects. Construction projects being completed by other entities, including private cable or phone companies are not included in this list.

The closures in this list are the result of construction projects being completed by entities other than the City of Brantford. This may include, but not be limited to: private cable or phone companies, private individuals or corporations, and provincial or federal government agencies.

The closures in this list are the result of special events occurring within the City of Brantford. Special Event closures appear on this list a maximum of 7 days prior to the start of the closure.

Right-of-Way Activity Permit
On April 27th, 2021 City Council approved a new Right-of-Way Activity Policy, Public Works-023. The City of Brantford is committed to implementing efficient policies and practices that ensure the health and safety of the public. This new policy reduces the number of permits required, eliminates duplicate or triplicate document submissions and streamlines the applicable fee structure. All fees and charges are in accordance with the Fees and Charges By-law.
All applications for the Right-of-Way Activity Permit should be submitted using the online application.
A Right-of-Way Activity Permit is required by any person, utility company or contractor performing activities within City streets right-of-way.
