The City is currently completing Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Studies to expand the water, wastewater, stormwater and transportation infrastructure to the north of Highway 403, and ultimately to the City’s Northwest Expansion lands. Due to the overlapping nature and geographic proximity of projects recommended in the Master Servicing Plan and Transportation Master Plan, and their combined need to satisfy an optimized servicing strategy, seven (7) individual projects are being completed simultaneously.
Due to the instability of the slope on Tutela Heights Road, the City of Brantford and the County of Brant are taking a proactive approach for the safety of the public and will be closing Tutela Heights Road. Effective September 16, 2025, Tutela Heights Road will be permanently closed at the City of Brantford – County of Brant boundary.
The City of Brantford (City) has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment study (Study) for improvements to Powerline Road, from Paris Road to the east municipal boundary.
Construction on Phase 1 of the Downtown Revitalization Project is expected to begin mid-August. Detours will be in place to support access to businesses and downtown destinations during construction on Brant Avenue and Icomm Drive. While two-way traffic will be maintained whenever possible, there may be short periods when full closures or delays are required to safely complete construction work. Please see the following map for suggested routes.
The City of Brantford has completed Phases Two and Three of the North Brantford and Tutela Heights Subwatershed Study, a key initiative supporting responsible growth and environmental protection in the 2,720 hectares annexed from the County of Brant in 2017. Approximately 900 hectares of this area are designated for future urban development under the City’s Official Plan – Envisioning Our City: 2051.
The Corporation of the City of Brantford hereby gives notice that an application has been made to the Minister of Transport, pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act for approval of the work described herein and its site and plans.
The City of Brantford (City) is undertaking an update of the 2020 Transportation Master Plan (TMP). The TMP Update will reconfirm the City’s investments in transportation infrastructure in the coming years, in consideration of updated population growth projections and a continued focus on sustainable transportation solutions
Zoning By-law Amendment Application PZ-10-25 proposes City-initiated updates to Zoning By-law No. 124-2024 to correct errors and omissions, and update zoning regulations requiring clarification.
