City of Brantford 2026 Canada Day holiday programming and schedule changes

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford is pleased to provide Canada Day programming on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 for residents and visitors to enjoy. There will be schedule changes in place for some city facilities on Canada Day. There will be no changes to regularly scheduled garbage, recycling and green bin collection. The use of fireworks is permitted on Canada Day on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, or the three calendar days leading up to the holiday (June 28, 29 and 30, 2026) as long as they meet the safety requirements and by-law restrictions. Earl Haig Family Fun Park

The waterpark will be open on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The waterslide and pools will open at 12 p.m. and the leisure pool and waterslide and lazy river will close at 7:30 p.m. Park amenities include lazy river, splash pad, leisure pool and waterslide and mini putt. Woodman Pool

The newly renovated outdoor pool will be open, weather permitting, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 for Length Swimming from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Public Swim from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Detailed information, including admission rates, can be found at www.Brantford.ca/WoodmanPool. The Community Centre will be closed for programming and rentals.

Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course and Wally’s Grill & Patio

The Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course and Learning Centre, Driving Range, Pro Shop and Wally’s Grill and Patio will be open on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Tee off times begin at 7 a.m. with the last tee time at 7 p.m. Tee times can be booked online at www.Brantford.ca/Golf. The Pro Shop and driving range are open from 6:30 a.m. to dusk. Wally’s Grill and Patio is open for anyone to enjoy family-friendly fare from 10 a.m. to dusk. Lawn Bowling is not scheduled to be open on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Brantford’s Canada Day at Lions Park Steve Brown Sports Complex

Enjoy a day of family-friendly fun and incredible live entertainment including iconic Canadian rock band, Finger Eleven and Tom Wilson, presented by OLG, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. All events and activities are free with the exception to the Kidzone Carnival and Midway and food and Marketplace Vendor purchases. The dazzling fireworks show starts at 10 p.m. Full event details are available at www.Brantford.ca/CanadaDay.

The City of Brantford is honoured to host a Citizenship Ceremony that begins at 10 a.m. at BGC Brantford (2 Edge St.). Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate those taking an oath to officially become Canadian citizens.

City of Brantford facility schedule changes on Wednesday, July 1, 2026

Brantford City Hall, Customer Service and Parking Enforcement Office

Brantford City Hall and Customer Service will be closed at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 and reopen on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. While closed, all customer service calls will be routed to the City’s after-hours provider that can be reached by calling the City’s Customer Service number at 519-759-4150. Customer service requests can also be made online at service.brantford.ca

Brantford Transit and Brantford Lift

  • Brantford Transit will have no service on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Brantford Transit will offer free shuttle services to Brantford’s Canada Day event taking place at Lions Park Steve Brown Sports Complex every 30 minutes, beginning at 11 a.m., with the last shuttle leaving the park at 10:30 a.m. Find free shuttle service hours and locations at www.Brantford.ca/CanadaDay.
  • Brantford Lift will have no regular service on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Free accessible shuttle service will be available to and from Brantford’s Canada Day event at Lions Park Steve Brown Sports Complex on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 between 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. To reserve a ride, pre-booking is required no later than 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026 by calling 519-752-4444.

Brantford Public Libraries

All City of Brantford library branches will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. 

Bell Homestead National Historic Site

The Bell Homestead National Historic Site will be closed Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

City of Brantford community centres and arenas

  • Branlyn Community Centre will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
  • Brantford and District Civic Centre will be closed Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
  • Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
  • Lions Park Arena will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
  • T.B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
  • Woodman Park Community Centre will be open for Holiday Pickleball from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Regular rates apply. Find detailed information at www.Brantford.ca/Pickleball. Woodman Park Community Centre will be closed for all regularly scheduled programming and rentals on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Woodman pool will be open.

Cemetery Services

The Brantford Cemetery Main Office will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Mohawk Street Landfill 

The Mohawk Street Landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Ontario Works Brantford-Brant Main Office

The Ontario Works Brantford-Brant main office at 225 Colborne Street will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre

The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, including the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition and Discover Brantford Desk.
