Garbage and Recycling
There are no changes to waste collection on most holidays. Your waste collection will occur one day later than regularly scheduled if it falls on or after these holidays: Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year's Day (January 1). Use the Recycle Coach app and never miss another collection. With the easy-to-use calendar you can find your upcoming collection schedule simply by searching your home address.
Residents are reminded that vehicles parked illegally on City streets can hinder collection vehicles from servicing residents. Please obey signage on your street to ensure collection can occur safely and efficiently.

| 2026 Daily Downtown Collection Changes |
|
Beginning January 1, 2026, recycling curbside collection for residents in the daily downtown collection area will be reduced to one day a week with Tuesdays being the collection day. Garbage and green bin curbside collection will still remain 6 days/week.

How to prepare your curbside waste
- Put your waste out by 7 a.m. on your collection day rather than the night before.

- Place items at the end of your driveway at ground level. Ensure they are set back from the curb or road edge to prevent bins from being knocked over. Don't place bags or bins on top or behind snowbanks.
- On windy or snowy days, secure loose items in recycling bins by placing the heaviest items on top. Don't overfill the bin, and condense cardboard material.
- Ensure bags are visible by using black or green bags instead of white.
- Don't use garbage bins or cans. Use garbage bags instead so containers aren't damaged and blown around once emptied.
