Visiting Bell Homestead

We invite you to visit the Brantford home where Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone on July 26, 1874. Here you will see how the Bell family lived and worked. You will learn about how Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone and see how the telephone has changed since then. Learn more Bell Homestead history. We have accessible and bus parking and indoor washroom facilities.

Please note, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the invention of the telephone, the Bell Homestead National Historic Site is creating a new telephone exhibition gallery. The new gallery will open in July, 2024. With renovations underway, The Henderson Home will be closed for the next few months. A small exhibit of telephones will be available for viewing in our visitor centre during this time.
