Why is the City installing a Pop-up Patio for the summer?
One of the goals included in the City of Brantford's 2024-2031 Economic Development Strategy is to “transform downtown into a destination that residents are proud of”. In many other municipalities, street patios have helped enhance the energy and liveliness of downtown spaces. In Summer 2025, the City of Brantford’s Economic Development, Tourism and Cultural Initiatives Department launched the Harmony Square Pop-up Patio as a pilot project in order to assess the potential gain it might bring to downtown businesses and to help City staff determine how to best assist businesses that are interested in installing their own street patios. 
Why did the City choose this location for the Pop-up Patio?
This location was selected due to its close proximity to several downtown businesses, City Hall, Harmony Square and Wilfrid Laurier University Brantford Campus.
Who can use the Pop-up Patio?
Anyone can use the patio to sit, relax, and connect.
How long will the Pop-up Patio be in place? 
The patio will be in place for several weeks this summer.
