Youth Programs

We offer several youth programs for ages 11 to 17.  

WLounge (11 to 16 years)

W Lounge will be open for use of video game systems, iMac computer stations and iPad use. Pool table, certain COVID-19-safe board games and other activities will be available.

YOUth Open Gym (11 to 16 years)

The gym at Woodman is open for free youth drop-in gym time on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., starting September 22. Session is limited to 12 Youth.

Youth Leadership Development-Level One (13 to 16 years)
This program is geared to youth looking to receive basic training in leadership skills, communication, program planning, team building, inclusion, resource development and more in an interactive classroom experience. After the in class training, participants then put their skills in action during a 30-hour volunteer placement in a City of Brantford Community Recreation Program. Pre-registration is required and COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place.
This program runs Saturdays from October 16 to November 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost is $165.00 per person. Limited space is available.

Important information

  • You may be required to show proof of vaccination, proof of identification or proof of exemption before entering the building. 
  • Youth must wear a face covering that covers their nose and mouth without gaps throughout the day for the majority of program activities.
  • Bring a snack and a refillable water bottle, as water fountains are only available for refilling at this time. There will be no concession available on site during program.
  • Parents are required to sign-in and sign-out their child(ren) outside of the facility. Parents will be asked to call the facility to notify of pick-up.
  • Pre-screening for each youth will be implemented. Temperatures will also be taken daily.
  • Consistent with public health regulations ongoing hand washing and sanitizing protocols (including all materials and surfaces) will be adhered to by all staff and participants prior to, during and after each program and more often as required.
  • Everyone in the household must stay home if anyone is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, been notified that they are a close contact or is waiting for test results after experiencing symptoms. Refunds will be issued for days not attended in this situation.
