This page highlights the more recent affordable housing developments that have been completed, are underway, or are planned in our community. Each project represents an important step toward ensuring more residents have access to stable housing, while supporting vibrant, healthy neighbourhoods across the city.

174 Trillium Way, Paris
Number of units: 49
Opened 2025
This affordable housing development brings 49 one-and two-bedroom units for singles, couples, small families and seniors. Developed in partnership with Brantford Native Housing, Nova Vita, and Sensity, and built by VERLY Construction Group, this development is net-zero energy ready and designed for optimal efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Lucy Marco Place, 40 Queen Street
Number of units: 41
Opened 2024
Lucy Marco Place is a six-story building that adds 41 one-and three-bedroom units to house individuals and families to provide safe and stable housing.

177 Colborne Street West
Number of units: 26
Opened 2023
This affordable housing development features 26 studio units for older adults who are experiencing chronic housing instability.

18 Stirton Ave
Number of units: 4
Opened 2021
This development has four separate studio units and showcases an innovative modular housing model that helps achieve low construction costs and expedites the building process.

5 Marlene Avenue
Number of units: 30
Opened 2020
The affordable housing development at Marlene Ave is part of the Live Well Brantford-Brant Supportive Housing Program. It’s unique in that in addition to housing, it provides wrap-around supports and assistance to tenants.

32 Bridge Street
Anticipated number of units: 24
Anticipated opening: Spring/Summer 2026
Currently under construction, this new affordable housing development by Jaycee’s Brantford Non-Profit Homes is part of a pilot program supported by the City of Brantford, which is contributing a $1.5 million subsidy to help bring the project to life.

247-253 West Street
Anticipated number of units: 18
Anticipated opening: 2027 (subject to Change)
This new affordable housing development by Brantford Native Housing is part of a pilot program supported by the City of Brantford, which is contributing a $1.125 million subsidy to help bring the project to life. It is currently under construction and will provide 18 affordable housing units for Indigenous families, seniors and individuals living with disabilities.
The development will include a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, office space, indoor and outdoor programming areas, as well as a green space and traditional medicine garden.

389 West Street (Fox Ridge)
Anticipated number of units: 43
Anticipated opening: Phase 1 - October 2026
The City of Brantford has purchased the Fox Ridge Community Care facility at 389 West Street as an investment in short and long-range planning for temporary and permanent housing options in Brantford.
The vision for this property is to develop the existing building and land for various temporary and permanent housing options along the housing continuum, utilizing a phased approach, prioritizing the greatest community need to fully realize the potential of the property.
