How to prepare

KTI Utility Services will require access to your existing water meter and your main shut-off valve. The water meter is typically located in the basement or where your water service line comes into your property.

To ensure a smooth installation and to avoid the need for a second visit, please complete the following BEFORE your scheduled appointment:

  1. Tell KTI Utility Services if your water meter or water shut-off valve is located in a crawlspace by calling the appointment booking hotline at 1-833-543-8807
  2. Clear the area around your water shut-off valve
  3. Make sure your water shut-off valve is operational by closing and then opening the valve
  4. Make sure the area around the water meter is clear, and the meter is accessible
  5. Make sure an adult (18 years or older) is home during the appointment to provide access

Water meter upgrades take approximately 30 to 90 minutes to complete, depending on the requirements of the particular residence or business. Your water may be briefly shut off during the water meter upgrade.
