Emergency Shelters

The City of Brantford works alongside other services, agencies and community partners in Brantford-Brant to support individuals and households at risk of or experiencing homelessness. This network is called the Brantford-Brant Coordinated Access System.

If you, or someone you know, is in immediate need of emergency sheltering, please contact SOAR Community Services Emergency Shelter Intake Services at 1-888-621-0034 or email housing@soarcs.com.
The SOAR Community Services waiting room at 73 Murray Street, Brantford is open 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, from 10am-8pm offering in-person and onsite support, connecting clients to available resources including housing services.

During extreme weather alerts, temporary indoor spaces are available at Rosewood House, 42 Nelson St., Brantford, for individuals without accessibility requirements, while the Salvation Army Brantford Booth Centre, 187 Dalhousie St., Brantford, can provide accessible temporary indoor space for adult males.

The Brantford Blessing Centre operates a warming location from November 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 at 7 Burnley Ave., Brantford between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. where individuals can seek respite from severe weather, access food and refreshments, and receive assistance navigating available community supports and services.
