B United: Advancing Inclusion & Empowerment in Brantford

WAKING THE unCONSCIOUS (WtC) is collaborating with the City of Brantford to enhance inclusion for everyone that calls this city home. We are developing innovative pathways and opportunities to improve education, awareness, and the acceptance of others. Key project initiatives and activities, all of which will be available to the public at no cost, including:

Training Customized inclusion and empowerment training sessions, provided to 200 staff and volunteers
at child-serving organizations throughout the city

Activities7 non-traditional activities geared towards children and youth ages 0-14

 

Events

We will be hosting a series of exciting events in for children ages 0-14. Please subscribe to this page to be the first to know.

B United Kickoff Event - October 30th, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

B UNITED by taking part in great activities for kids of ages, including face painting, robotics, crafts and more. Celebrate your diversity and B SEEN at the Brantford Public Library. 
Brantford Newcomers Event – December 5th, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

B United while meeting Brantford newcomers and making them feel at home. Celebrate the diversity of our community and B SEEN at the Family Resource Centre (2nd Floor), 14 Henry Street.

EDI Workshop for Brantford Child Serving Organizations

WtC in partnership with the City of Brantford's Healthy Kids All Kids initiative is provided free Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) workshop. All members of your organization from leadership, to staff, and even volunteers are invited and encouraged to join! This workshop will occur over 2 sessions:
 Session #1 - Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

 This session will focus on the basics of EDI. A Zoom link will be provided upon registration.

  • Duration: 1.5hrs

 WtC will apply your learnings from Session # 1 through various exercises to enhance your understanding and allow for application to your organization. If you've already registered for session #1, please register for session #2.
