Clean Brantford

Cleaning up litter is important to the health and vitality of the community and the Grand River. That’s why the City of Brantford is proud to be hosting a fall community clean up in honour of Waste Reduction Month. On Friday, October 27, 2023 and Saturday, October 28, 2023, residents are encouraged to help clean our city by collecting litter in their neighbourhoods, community, and along the trails and the Grand River.

While we encourage residents to use their own reusable gloves, clean up kits are available that include one large garbage bag, one large clear bag, a pair of gloves, and information on how to dispose of different materials. Supplies will be available for pick up at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre during their operating hours from Monday, October 23 until Saturday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m. Those who missed the registration deadline are able to pick up a kit on a first-come, first-serve basis.

You can leave your collected litter at the curbside with your regular garbage pick-up or if you are organizing a group clean up, or collect a large amount of litter, you can bring your garbage to the designated disposal locations indicated below on October 27 and 28 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. where City of Brantford staff will dispose of it for you:

  • Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre Parking Lot, 254 North Park Street
  • Holmedale Park, 331Grand River Avenue
