Clean Brantford

Cleaning up litter is important to the health and vitality of the community. That’s why the City of Brantford is proud to be hosting the second annual community clean up in honour of Earth Day. On Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22, residents are encouraged to Clean our City by collecting litter in their neighbourhoods and around the community.

To participate, individuals, neighbourhood associations, or groups will be required to pre-register online where they can specify their location of clean-up and supplies needed.

While we encourage residents to use their own reusable gloves, clean-up kits are available that include one large garbage bag, one large clear bag, a pair of gloves, and information on how to dispose of different materials. Supplies will be available for pick up at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre during their operating hours from Monday, April 17 until Friday, April 21. The number of kits needed can be specified during registration. The registration deadline is Thursday, April 20 at 4:30 p.m.

Prizes will be randomly awarded to registered participants that submit a photo of their clean-up efforts. Prizes are offered for the following categories:

Individuals
Individuals can win one of two $50.00 gift cards to a local business.
Neighbourhood Associations
Neighbourhood Associations can win a $500.00 prize donation.
Community groups, businesses or other organizations
Community groups, businesses or other organizations can win a $500.00 cash donation to a local charity of their choice.
Schools
Participating schools can win one of three countertop composters for their school.

You can leave your collected litter at the curbside with your regular garbage pick-up or if you are organizing a group clean-up, or collect a large amount of litter, you can bring your garbage to the designated disposal locations as indicated on the registration form on April 21 and April 22 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. where City of Brantford staff will dispose of it for you.

Register to participate
