Fitness in the Parks

Based on popular demand, we are extending our outdoor fitness class offerings until July 17, 2021. The following fitness classes take place in-person at various parks throughout the City of Brantford and are offered free of charge.

Pre-registration is required for each class. Registration takes place each Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. for the following week of activities. Register online or call us.

Please note that programs may be cancelled as a result of inclement weather.

Yoga in the Park (13 years and over)

Safe, low-impact poses and sequences to improve balance, strength, and flexibility, while decreasing stress and improving overall wellness. No experience necessary; many options provided for all levels and abilities. You will need to bring your own mat with you for each class.

  • Tuesdays 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. at Devon Down Park (70 Abigail Avenue, Brantford)

Mindful Movement (13 years and over)

Here is a great way to slow down and improve your fitness-both at the same time! Fitness does not have to be fast and intense to be effective, so give this class a try and you will agree. Through body weight movements, this class will challenge your strength and flexibility, as well as your improve balance, coordination and focus. It is a great class for everyone-from new exercisers to people always on the go who are looking for a way to slow down.

  • Wednesdays 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Full Body Fit (13 years and over)

Here is a great full body work out that will use your body weight and light equipment. You will get a great cardio challenge, resistance sets, and stretching. All this and more in just one work-out! Bring your own yoga mat please.

  • Tuesdays 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at Spring Gardens Park (17 Dogwood Drive, Brantford)
    • July 6 and July 13
  • Wednesdays 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at Cedarland Park (160 Ashgrove Avenue, Brantford)
    • July 7 and July 14
  • Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Centennial Park (39 Ellenson Drive, Brantford)
    • July 10 and July 17

Young at Heart in the Park (50 years and over)

Using bodyweight and an exercise band (which will be yours to keep!), this program will offer you ways to challenge and improve your balance, coordination, and flexibility. It will keep your body and your brain moving to keep you young at heart!

  • Mondays 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Preston Park (275 Dufferin Avenue, Brantford)

  • Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Bridle Path Park (238 Brantwood Park Rd, Brantford, Park behind Branlyn school at the baseball diamond)

  • Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Woodmand Park (491 Grey Street, Brantford)
    • July 9 - Sponsored by the Healthy Aging Passport
