Financial Assistance

The Child Care fee subsidy is financial assistance that covers all or part of the costs of child care for children up to 12 years of age in licensed programs. This includes:

  • Licensed child care
  • Licensed before and after school programs
  • Eligible summer camps (City of Brantford Summer Camps*, County of Brant Summer Camps, Boys & Girls Club Summer Camps, YMCA Summer Camps)

*Note that families who anticipate applying for Fee Subsidy to attend City of Brantford summer camps are to apply for Fee Subsidy prior to registering for camp

Who can apply for fee subsidy

  • Your child is 12 years old or younger
  • You are working, going to school or have a child with special needs
  • Your income meets the requirements

What you need to apply for fee subsidy

Proof of income which can be found on:

  • Your most recent Canada Child Benefit Statement
  • Your Canada Revenue Agency, Notice of Assessment or Notice of Reassessment

How to apply for fee subsidy

You can apply for child care subsidy in one of two ways:

Fee Subsidy appointments may be held over the phone or at a location convenient to you.

Apply for licensed child care

Applying for licensed child care space is a separate process than applying for the child care fee subsidy.
